The Vrais Amis Du Cadratin Association

Created on 24 April 2009, the goals of Le Vrais Amis du Cadratin are to support and publicise Le Cadratin and it's activities, safeguard the heritage of the printing profession - the machines and knowledge of typography, and to promote the future development of the workshop.

The association encourages the participation of volunteers in the activities organized at the workshop, and participates in the search for material to enrich the heritage that is not only exhibited, but kept in working order and used at Le Cadratin.

The Vrais Amis du Cadratin has more than 700 loyal members whose support is invaluable.

The association funds the publication of the "Petit Journal" and the events taking place in the workshop, such as open days. In addition, the association regularly solicits support from various institutions for the realization of works published at Le Cadratin and participation in events such as the Salon international du livre et de la presse in Geneva. The association has already received support from the City of Vevey, the department of cultural affairs of the State of Vaud, the city of Lausanne, the Sandoz Family Foundation, Loterie Romande, Casino Barrière de Montreux, the Riviera Savings and donors wishing to remain anonymous. Their assistance is gratefully acknowledged.

The workshop of Le Cadratin attracts visitors of all ages. Our members may be currently, or formerly, professionally involved in the field of typography, young designers, avid readers and lovers of writing, basically anyone whos id seduced by the textures of beautiful paper and the smell of ink and lead.

Those who wish to safeguard this heritage have the opportunity to join the Vrais Amis du Cadratin to support the long-term operation of the workshop and its various projects.

Any amount paid in addition to the annual fee as a donation is welcome and will allow the association to increase the support for the workshop and its activities.

The Association Les Vrais Amis du Cadratin and the Le Cadratin Foundation are recognized as being public entities. All donations are tax deductible up to the limit set by the relevant tax authorities.
